Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers – 20th Anniversary Edition
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon
Much better than The Smoking Mirror with spectacular graphics and more physical puzzles. The main drawback is it’s heavily reliance on crate moving puzzles.

Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror
A somewhat dissapointing sequel to one of the most classical and epic adventuregames.
The graphics are slightly improved compared to the 1st game and the character shifting is a nice addition to the gameplay.
The story however is much weaker, the characters uninspiring and the puzzles often uninvolving or simply unrelated to the main story.

Arguably the most recognizable adventure game ever made with all the ingredients you expect: great characters, fantastic voice overs and well integrated puzzles.
The 3D presentation suffers from some awkward character models and the switch to direct control does not really work well for an adventure game, in which looking for hotspots has become even harder. Inventory interface requires a lot of clicking.

Longest Journey, The
Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within
Probably the best interactive story even written with brilliant dialog and characters.
The acting may not be for all and by todays standards the full motion video is a bit bland, but this is the definitive FMV game of the golden Adventure games era

Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
This game has it all: well written story, likeable characters, movie like plot, plenty of nice puzzles and even some action sequences.
The graphics were spectacular at the time with lot of detailed animations and the ending is epic.

The best puzzle ever to finds its way into an Adventure game, with great dialogue and story. The 3D provides for unlimited exploration even though there could be more detail and dynamics in the artistic direction.

Conquests of the Longbow: The Legend of Robin Hood
Some great puzzles and excellent dialogue puts you right back in 12th century England. There are actually some choices to be made that affect the outcome for better or worse

Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers
This may not be the best space quest, but the hilarious voice overs make up for speed related issues and poor pacing

Fantastic story, interesting chatacters and a nice shining look.
The gameplay was a bit too hybrid for it to work well and the ending was abrupt….
