Wormventures - Barrier 51: A one-man Gaming Marvel
Wormventures - Barrier 51, a quirky 3D cartoon point-and-click adventure game, is nearing completion. Developed single-handedly by Marcus Röckendorf, the game is set to be available for PCs running Windows, Linux, or MacOS. After taking a month off his professional work to fully devote himself to game development, Röckendorf shared that Wormventures - Barrier 51 is now essentially complete. All visuals, sound effects, dialogues, puzzles, and the UI are final and locked, with just some polishing left for the last two of seven chapters. The developer is also in the process of selecting fitting background music from a large pool of purchased music tracks and coordinating the recordings of the German voice overs. Although the original plan was to release the game in 2023, the new target is now Q1 of 2024.
In addition to these exciting updates, a new trailer for Wormventures - Barrier 51 was recently released. Röckendorf also recently conducted a playthrough of the entire game, estimating a total playtime of 12 - 14 hours for the complete adventure.
