Not intended as a sequel nor a remake, Alone in the Dark is designed to provide a fresh experience for new players while retaining a sense of familiarity for fans of the original series. Alone in the Dark aims to honor the "freaky feeling" of the original games rather than trying to recreate it. The game offers a completely new story featuring a star-studded cast, including Jodie Comer and David Harbour. In Hedberg's interview, he expressed his excitement about working with Comer and Harbour, praising their performances as protagonists Edward and Emily.
Alone in the Dark is a re-imagination of the classic survival horror game, blending elements of psychological horror and southern gothic. Players will explore their environment, fight monsters, solve puzzles, and uncover the eerie truth of Derceto Manor. The game is developed by Sweden's Pieces Interactive and will be available on PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PlayStation®5 on January 16th, 2024. You can pre-order the game on Steam.
