Developers air views about The Art of Video Game Storytelling

For those who believe that storytelling in games is a lost art – or maybe an art that was never truly found – you may be interested to hear what the storytellers themselves have to say about it. Now you can, as the latest episode of the video game show Game Theory with Scott Steinberg explores the topic in detail.

Headlining the star-studded cast appearing in the 11-minute episode, entitled "Interactive Fiction: The Art of Video Game Storytelling", are Jane Jensen, Legend Entertainment's Bob Bates, Revolution's Charles Cecil, and Infocom's Steve Meretzky, along with Ultima's renowned Richard "Lord British" Garriott and several writers from popular modern day AAA action games with a heavy emphasis on narrative. The video explores the rise and fall and rise again of storytelling in games, as "yesterday and today’s greatest designers share their thoughts on film."

To learn more about this episode or view other videos in the series, be sure to check out the Game Theory website itself.
