Final Doctor Who episode to be presented on Christmas
The BBC is spreading a little holiday cheer this year, at least to UK residents, as today they've unveiled the first details of the season finale of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games, to be released on December 25th.
The fourth and final episode called Shadows of the Vashta Nerada picks up right after the cliffhanger ending of the previous installment, as "The Doctor and Amy materialise just south of London (and about a 1000 miles to the left) inside an aquatic sea-bed colony called Poseidon." Once again written by Phil Ford and starring Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, the game itself takes place at Christmas and is set "entirely underwater", featuring the monsters first intoduced on TV in the episodes Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead.
As before, given the publicly-funded nature of the BBC, the game will be free to download for UK residents upon its release for both PC and Mac on Christmas day from the official website. The rest of the world will have to pay a small purchase price to access the game from select distributors.
Although Shadows of the Vashta Nerada ends this first season of The Adventure Games, this isn't the last we'll be seeing of Doctor Who, as another season is already in the works for next year.
