Rhiannon branches into Europe later this year
It's only fitting that a game based in Wales and made by a Welsh developer would find a European publisher, and that's the reality today for Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches, as Lighthouse Interactive announced a publishing deal for release later this year.
The first-person "dark mythological" game by Arberth Studios is grounded in the Four Branches of the Mabinogion, a collection of tales blending history and legend. A modern day adventure, the game follows the story of a teenage girl named Rhiannon and the remote farmstead of Ty Pryderi. Shortly after moving in with her parents, Rhiannon begins having disturbing supernatural encounters, revealing "an ancient evil lurking in the walls of Ty Pryderi that holds a terrible connection to a timeless struggle between man and magic fabled in the Mabinogion Legends." With Rhiannon taken away from Ty Pryderi for her own safety, it's then up to players to enter the house and find a way to end an ongoing otherworldly battle for revenge.
No specific target date has yet been announced, but the game will be released across Europe some time in the fourth quarter, excluding Italy, Greece and Russia.
