You be the Actor, I’ll be the Reactor
About one year ago, Cedric and the Revolution marked the arrival of a new talent on the Underground adventure scene. Bernhard 'Bernie' Politsch followed the charming, LucasArtsy Cedric with a platform game called Darkside Adventures earlier this fall, but now he's back with an unadulterated adventure game.
In Reactor 09 you play as Dr. Galivan, former nuclear physicist, current inmate of the Zion 5 State Prison. Your task is to escape, but to succeed you will need the trust and cooperation of your accidental sidekick, a by-the-book correctional officer. The prison guard's trust in you goes up and down depending on how you play, affecting the path of the story and leading to one of four alternate endings.
The game is billed as serious, so it trades in some of the whimsy of Bernie's first adventure for more mature language and material. Both the story and the gameplay focus on the relationship between the two main characters.
Reactor 09 is 4.7 MB in size, and can be downloaded from Bernie's website. (Some players have experienced problems getting the game to run. A different version is now available that solves this problem.)
