PC Gameworld romped through Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude and, with a score of 40/100% wasn't impressed:

"Sex, porn, beer, farts, and beer-farts are the main claim to fame for this game. In fact, Larry’s flatulence is so frequent, the idea of his having a farting disease cropped up because his exhaust clouds seemed to outnumber the words in the script. This is definitely a crude and classless game made by men, for boys."

And with a score of 3.5/5, it didn't seem to fair that well at Cyber Gaming Network, either, but for slightly different reasons:

"Leisure Suit Larry is clearly pushing the game industry into new territory in some ways, but at the same time, taking a step backwards in others. Yes full frontal nudity, adult themes, and sex have always been something that the game industry has been reluctant to show, but at the same time, the game falls flat in the areas of basic gameplay issues. No real challenge is ever issued and while this might be saving grace to those players who are always frustrated by the difficulty of games, the majority of gamers will find this game to be a walk in the park. Overall Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude is an easy game that is saved by the hilarious comedic moments throughout Larry’s quest."
