Rumors on the future of Tex Murphy

After 1998's release of Tex Murphy: Overseer, adventure gamers have been waiting for the next addition to the highly acclaimed adventure series. The future of Tex, however, has long been in limbo since the rights to the series were sold to Microsoft, who apparently had no intention on continuing the series.

Now, according to a posting on the unofficial Tex Murphy forums, Aaron Conners, the series' script writer, has declared that Microsoft no longer owns the rights to Tex Murphy. Conners is now working for another, unnamed company, and the rights to the series is now owned by this new company. There are currently no indications of a game currently being in production. However, if this turns out to be true, the chances of a sequel just became much more likely.

Although nothing is official or certain at this moment, this sure would prove to be great news for the many Tex Murphy-fans out there. Originally, there were planned for three sequels to Overseer. Be sure to watch Adventure Gamers as we will keep you updated on the latest on the possible sequel in this "sci-noir" adventure series.
