Latest reviews: Silence, Myst IV, Silver Earring

Warcry gave The Moment Of Silence a score of 8.1/10:

 

"The puzzles in The Moment of Silence can mostly be solved logically. There is a moment with a makeshift fishing rod and another with some Ketchup and an officer's hat that had me thinking that the boundaries had been pushed too far, but by and large the game doesn't get too abstract. Acquiring items sticks to the unfortunately problematic and accustomed way in point-and-clickers, that the game won't let you progress until you have the needed items. That's fair enough, but in no way can the developers think that the player will realize stealing some wire that holds a cultists staff together in Brooklyn Park will come in useful hours later, and miles away, in Greenwich Village when it has to be shoved through an old man's letterbox."

 

The Armchair Empire awarded Myst IV: Revelation 8.9/10:

 

"It’s possible that Myst IV is not as good as I might think. By way of a disclaimer, I was cringing my way through Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude at the same time I was playing Myst IV, so anything I’ve written above should be taken in that context. Even so, I’d stick to the opinion that the puzzles are a challenge--in some cases a real challenge--and that the graphics are gorgeous with a solid interface. And hell, it’s even fun at times. In short, Myst and maybe even adventure fans will be pleased with Myst IV: Revelation.

 

And Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring received a score 7.1/10 from Gamer's Hell:

 

"In the end, this is a game that shows some promise but falls short. The attractive graphics, excellent voice work and relatively coherent , if convoluted, story offer some promise, but a there just isn’t enough game in this game. It frequently feels more like an interactive movie than a game and I honestly think it could have been done using nothing but FMV if the developers had chosen that angle. Die hard adventure game fans and Sherlock Holmes devotees might find this worthwhile, but most everyone else is going to find themselves bored or irritated by the linear and inflexible nature of the game."
