1989’s A Personal Nightmare from HorrorSoft is your typical horror adventure game: circumstances prompting you to visit a small town - check; old creepy church with suspicious looking vicar - check; villagers mysteriously possessed by the devil - check. Unfortunately the writing isn’t the game’s strongest point and is fairly dull, with many descriptions consisting of sentences like “this is a door” or “this is a rake”. Still, the attractive graphics and decent puzzles make it worth a play if you’re a horror fan.

I’ve had this on gog since forever, was not even sure what it was about.

Better to be simple and direct than to fluff and bore with bad writing
