Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Friday 8 July
Based on the classic William Gibson novel, 1990’s Neuromancer is a game for which I’d very much like to see a remake. It’s a very good game but it has its share of problems, including a very picky parser, a money system (dead ends!) and no way to keep track of information. Some would say those add to the appeal of the game world, which is as it is in the book - complex and ruthless. Hacking and navigating cyberspace, of course, is a key part of the game and you need to obtain chips to upgrade your skills (and there are some interesting ones - phenomenology, zen, cryptology and sophistry among others).
I read the book ages ago but never played the game. Isn’t there something in the game about selling body parts for money?

Yes, there is. There is a body parts store and you can get discounts with the bargaining skill.
Although…I’m not sure how you would finish the game without legs or a heart!
Based on Neuromancer? Brian Fargo recently played it and it was interesting.
I’ll check this out.
