Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Tuesday, 7 May
It was the worst of games, it was the best of games. Escape from Monkey Island was never to compete with its own series legacy, but it had Pegnose Pete!

“You’re nothing without your precious attack duck!”
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
A severely and undeservedly underestimated adventure, in my opinion.
I loved every minute of it (yeah, even the monkey/robot fights.)
Everybody wants to be Cary Grant.
Even Me.
-Cary Grant
“How does he smell without a nose?”
“Awful!!”
Never liked the game much (Ozzy was a nice villain though)...
After playing the 1st 3 Monkey Island games not long before I was very keen to play this one which was available on PS2. I did enjoy it but for me it didn’t quite have the magic of the 1st 3.
