Adventure game scene… uh, game (continued)
Why on earth would the poster of a new pic check if it’s Googleable or not?
Show some restraint and play fair. It’s just for fun, after all…
Don’t be naive. It’s obvious when someone uses google to solve a screenshot. I’ve seen the difference for myself when I googleproof my screens and when I don’t. They only ruin the fun for themselves and those that actually knew it.
I’m really sorry that I used google in some of my guesses, at first as a noob in this I didn’t know it was an unwritten rule but I can see how it’s annoying. Just wanted to be part of the game.

How is that obvious??
Butter my buns and call me a biscuit! - Agent A
Good question! I don’t know. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that, you can’t know for sure.
Don’t be naive.
I’m not, I just don’t care.
I’m all for sportsmanship in things like this, but really, if you want to spoil it for yourself and use the Google Image Search function, be my guest. It’s not like there’s really anything at stake here…
If I’m too late to post my guess (the few times that I actually recognize a screenshot), then meh, I’m too late. If the one who guesssed it used Google or not is of no importance to me. Especially not since I’ll only recognize things from overly famous AGs anyway…
Besides, if someone has no scruples about using Google, then that someone is to provide the next screenshot anyway, making that a screenshot to be guessed with at least one less Googler present.
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
- It’s like using “highlight all hotspots” option, or a walkthrough - It’s up to the players (guessers)
Spot on - it’s exactly like that. Players have the freedom to choose whether to use it or not, but the mere fact that highlighting exists, simply ruins the experience for some players. IMO, highlighting hotspots is ruining adventures in the same way “google imaging” is ruining this thread.
NOT because of some ridiculous high-ground moral standards (people can use whatever help they bldy like), but because it sucked the fun out of the search for answers. Why should I spend time finding references and checking ideas when I could simply googlepic it…?
Why should I spend time finding references and checking ideas
Because, in my opinion, it’s more fun to do it that way.

So There, how about another screen, I SWEAR I won’t use Google Images!

You are missing the point, it’s not that you should refrain from googlepicturing, but from posting googlepicturable… pictures. It’s… That’s…. What I wanted to say is… OK, I surrender:
After humbly having accepted that frypan hit,
Ok, first of all, !!!
I HAD to do that!
let me continue- this is the following sshot:
The main adventage with our small European cars is that, naturally, no serial killer could hide in the back seat… as they usually do.
It’s not fair - you smudged the license plate! Now, Google Image can’t find it!
In other news - I was THIS close to buying Fiat Punto few years ago. As for Ford Ka, it was always ugly to me. As for the game, a simple deduction based on a car production countries tells me we should be looking somewhere at Italy, or Spain. But I’m not that stupid - Fiat Punto has a major sales in Brazil, and Ford Ka is also assembled in Sao Bernardo do Campo, in Brazil! There’s only one game where the killer is hiding in the back seat in Brazil… Art of Murder!

Everyone says that - just before they go and buy themselves an Audi.

...a cosy place in a local asylum
No, really - you guessed the location right. OK, half right.
Here’s another:
In other news : Having heard what Diego said, Chairman of the Board of the Ford Motor Company sheds a manly tear:
As for Ford Ka, it was always ugly to me.
No, really - you guessed the location right. OK, half right.
I’ve never heard of a country named Zil! Bra, on the other hand…
OK, so we travel from Bra to Rome. The plot thickens.
