Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Saturday 13 September 2014
A screenshot from one of the best Mystian adventures I’ve played: Morpheus (1998). Just thinking about it makes me want to play it again! I checked Mobygames to see if the developers had produced more adventures. But no, it’s Soap Bubble’s (what’s in a name) only game and publisher Piranha Interactive (what’s in a name) went under years ago.
Anyway, the Herculania is a spooky ghost ship. You explore the ship, meet the ghosts and learn more about their lives and tragic fate. I really must resist the urge to nominate Morpheus for a community playthrough…

There’re only two things I remember from playing Morpheus when it was released:
1) It demanded the horrendous Quick Time to be installed!
2) Exactly the scenes as this one - all I did was wondering aimlessly across the spooky ship deck. I might have met some ghosts, but by then I was probably already too benumbed by the dismal environment that I didn’t pay attention.
Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale
WHAT? How dare you dislike Morpheus!
Zobraks! Over here!
Didn’t manage to get inside, did you. Haha. That’s where the ghosts are.

Consider him stomped to the ground already (like the French team).
Morpheus is a great game.
It has its flaws (I also wrote about those), but the goodies prevail.

Well for god’s sake, nominate it and stop voting in games I’ve already played!* (That includes all of you!)
Ah, yes! Morpheus is indeed a favorite of mine as well. It has a creepy and intriguing story and good puzzles. The acting is a bit over the top in places, but I loved the way getting to the different locations was handled. It also had a neat ending.
