Movie/TV/Band Homages in AGs

Here’s another music reference from:

9: The Last Resort (1996)

Once again, a fake album with an anagram title and a strong hint at the bottom that actually shows the name of a song.

Patsy Cline: I Fall to Pieces (1961)

I should probably make it clear that these aren’t puzzle spoilers, just easter eggs. You can play the entire game without even looking at the albums, let alone figuring out the anagrams.

Ooh, I just remembered one I saw recently.

This picture on Sam’s locker in Gone Home:

is a reference to the TV show Twin Peaks.

Shadow of the Comet (see if you can figure them out)

Jack Nicholson from The Shining.

The other looks like Melanie Griffith, but I don’t know what movie it’s from.

You know the drill. Another anagram and the hint this time is just the guitar and the outfit he’s wearing.

Shouldn’t that be:

The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

Yes, yet another one. The clue is what the cat is drinking.

All of the following:

Still Life (2005)

Gone Home (2013)

Dark Fall: The Journal (2002)

are nods to the poster from Mulder’s office in:

The X-Files (1993)

In addition, the office below is a huge homage to Mulder’s office as well:

Tony Tough and the Night of Roasted Moths (1997)

Space Quest VI / Terminator II /Bladerunner / Inner Space

LOL @ Frosta La keister..”

The outfit of that bounty hunter at SQ6 is also very similar Deckard of the original Bladerunner.

Note about Inner-Space and Space-Quest VI Spoof :

Space Quest 6 was planned to be titled “Roger Wilco in Innard Space” but was rejected.  Scott Murphy explains: “I was something of an old fan of the old ‘Fantastic Voyage’ movie where they inject Racquel Welch-and and even bigger submarine-into a human body. The idea of a janitor loose in the same situation has serious possibilities.”
