I rank both equally, so which one do I pick?
GK1 impressed with its writing and story build-up, MI1 impressed with its zany humour.
My guess is that The Secret of Monkey Island is going to be the underdog in this round. I’ll give it my vote.

I can`t make a decision between these two. I`ll vote later when I`m sure what I`m doing

The Secret of Monkey Island is a game that I like and respect a lot, but no game in any genre has ever inspired and involved me like original GK1. My vote has to be Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers

Top 10 Vs 2nd…
...gotta be GK1
Even though it’s my least favorite of the series (though still in my top 4 games…) it’s Gabriel Knight all the way.
It’s tough for even one of the funniest humour games to compete with one of the best written games out there.
We’re comparing Sierra’s best game (I personally still prefer GK2 slightly over GK1, but many seem not to agree with me) to the 2nd best Monkey Island game….so that’s an easy one for me:
Gabriel Knight gets my vote.
