And keep the exploration aspect of Bloodborne, opening new areas, new NPCs, changing
vast world into lovecrafitan horror gradually.

Yeah, that was one of the things I really appreciated with Bloodborne, how there’s a LOT of hidden content, bosses and even whole levels, that you will only uncover through thorough exploration. Back in the day, secret levels was a pretty ordinary thing, but today it’s extremely rare, at least in my experience.

As far as extending AG’s for the sole purpose of extending the length of a game… that’s never a good idea. Reminds me of an interview with Ron Gilbert (I tried finding a link, but failed) where he talked about the importance of CUTTING content. Quality always trumps quantity.

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

Of course, there’s the way they did it in LA Noire, and that was add lots and lots of driving all over town.

Drove me crazy when playing the game - useless padding.

I enjoy playing adventure games on my Alienware M17 r4 and my Nintendo Switch OLED.

One person’s padding is another’s realism.
