A fun game that gets repetitive

Straight off the bat, Planet of Lana drew me in with its engaging intro sequence, stirring me up and firing me up for the journey ahead.

The game itself is fun, well designed and does a great job of incorporating puzzles and obstacles that provide a challenge, though never to the point of frustration.

The environment is beautiful, yet manages to create a sense of vastness and helplessness.

However, you may notice that I’ve written environment and not environments. This is because you’ll spend most of your time in the same setting. And that’s the downside of this game. It feels like running in circles, encountering the same sights, battling the same enemies, and solving similar puzzles. It gets stagnant after a while and I soon found myself getting bored.

That’s not to say everyone will feel the same, but the thought of exploring new environments and seeing new things is what motivates me to progress through a game. That was lacking here.

Planet of Lana is a good game to play in short increments, but I found it to be a bit of a drag when playing for any prolonged period.
