The Mortuary Assistant: A Spooky Switch Adventure
DreadXP, the independent horror games publisher, has released The Mortuary Assistant on Nintendo Switch. The game features demonic banishments, creepy puzzles, and realistic mortician tasks, and was a viral sensation on Steam in 2022, garnering an overnight cult following and a “very positive” review rating. It even won the gameHERs Indie Game of the Year award for 2022. Now, Nintendo Switch owners can join in the spooky fun as they pursue their degree in mortuary sciences and begin an apprenticeship at the notoriously unnerving River Fields Mortuary. The game is available for purchase on the Nintendo eShop for $24.99.
In The Mortuary Assistant, players take on the role of Rebecca Owens, a mortuary assistant who discovers that the dead don't stay dead at this mortuary – demonic forces are at play. Each game playthrough is unique, featuring different demons, bodies, and scares. Rebecca must balance her mortuary tasks while hunting for clues as to what's behind these paranormal occurrences. All past content updates for The Mortuary Assistant on PC are packed for the Nintendo Switch release.
DreadXP announced its console porting initiative back in December 2022 with the releases of Sucker for Love: First Date and Iron Lung.
