Anacapri lands a publisher

If a June vacation to the lovely island of Capri sounds enticing, then get ready to pack your virtual bags, as Adventure's Planet SRL has announced that it will be releasing Anacapri: The Dream worldwide, with the exception of Canada and the US.

As in their first adventure, A Quiet Weekend in Capri, the new game by indie developers Silvio and Gey Savarese takes players to the scenic Italian island. This time around, much of the game takes place in Anacapri, the island's upper regions, where players arrive as an expert in ancient civilizations. Although warned to flee by some of the locals, you'll of course stay to search for a mysterious black Obsidian Disk, an artifact of great destructive power.

As you point-and-click your way through the game's 8000-plus photorealistic screens, you will "explore the deep Blue Grotto, sail the sea around the Faraglioni, traverse Tiberius' Roman villas of Damecuta and Palazzo a Mare, climb up Mount Solaro, wander across the Path of the Forts, visit the mystical hermitage of Cetrella, Villa San Michele and the Philosophical Park." Along the way, the lines of reality and unreality begin to blur, and you'll interact not only with the current residents, but historical and legendary characters, including "famous doctor and writer Axel Munthe, philosopher Gunnar Adler-Karlsson, as well as several mythical characters such as Nereus, Poseidon, the Siren and the Nereids."

Although no specific date was given, Anacapri: The Dream will be released first in both English and Italian in the first half of June. The game will be available through the publisher's own online store as well as all major online stores.
