Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Sunday, 24 April
When it comes to Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria I feel like one should really be in a special “patient is a virtue” adventure mode to fully appreciate it - it won’t surprise you in any way, it doesn’t break any new grounds, it takes inspiration from classics and “overdoes” it a bit in terms of conversations, characters… but its heart is in a right place. And once you’re “in”, it can come off as a pleasant, underrated title.

Once tried this game off a mate’s copy. Got a weird crash after the intro movie, so I never really got around to playing it. The game looks good, though.
