Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Tuesday, 26 January
Last 10 years or so saw many remakes of classic adventures, but one of the best is still one of the earliest in that period - Quest for Glory II VGA remake by AGD Interactive. Many fans are torn between QFG1 and QFG4 when it comes to “the best” in the series, but I wonder what would happen if QFG2 had VGA graphics, like the competition (LucasArts) already had in 1990.
Well, AGD tries to answer that question, and it’s a worthy remake on many levels - not all fans will be pleased that AGD “dared” to touch, not only upon the graphics, but also the interface, navigation and combat system, and even if there’re some things not everyone would approve, it’s still a brilliant overhaul in general. And you know what - it’s free!
