Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Saturday 29 August

On this day, in 1882, Australia defeated England in cricket for the first time! So here’s today The Adventures of Down Under Dan, messy but unique adventure through Australia and its culture.

The game took all the “annoying things” from Sierra and Access, so you’ll be dying on each step, you’ll need to overcome timed sequences and you’ll meet (DRUM ROLL) - dead ends! The digitized graphics are interesting, but ugly even for 1995.
On the other side, there’s a funny narrator, and the game is one and perhaps, only title that tackles the Australian culture. It also features one of the most confusing and mysterious hint systems, ever. Try it, really. At least it’ll be a breath of fresh air with all its Sierra-esque frustrations that are “so needed” in todays trend of “dumbing down” the difficulty. Grin

I remember that Bastich hated it and Handsfree liked it. I didn’t get very far unfortunately, but I liked the little I saw of the game. Did you finish it, diego?

Nice little review, but I’ll skip this game.

Are you kidding me? It’s me, Diego! I never finish a game! I also liked it (I remember your quote about the pelican Grin ), and if I could swallow battling bats in the cave, dead ends were too much for me.
