Speaking of successful sequels, here’s Simon the Sorcerer II: The Lion, the Wizard and the Wardrobe. It’s simply one of the funniest games ever made (then again, I’m a sucker for British TV comedy shows). If you don’t at least chuckle at the first screen or two, then it’s not for you. I played it without voices, which I heard are good, but the recording quality is horrendous.

p.s. the screen is from a 20th Anniversary Edition

Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale

You should have used the original screenshot. It’s FAR superior in quality.

I remember laughing pretty hard at Simon II, I considered it a lot funnier than the first game. This is one of the series I should take my time to replay and then continue further on, since I never played the later titles. And I know they’ve got mixed reviews but I’d still like to see them for myself.

Currently Playing: Dragon Age Origins: Awakening
Recently Played: Red Embrace: Hollywood, Dorfromantik, Heirs & Graces, AI: The Somnium Files, PRICE, Frostpunk, The Shapeshifting Detective (CPT), Disco Elysium, Dream Daddy, Four Last Things, Jenny LeClue - Detectivu, The Signifier

The first one was very good, the sequel was better.

And what I’ve played of the third game was really good as well (it just had a few timed minigames that were perfectly doable, and well, it was ugly as f#!% and I got hit with a game-breaking bug, but the story started ok and the humour was still spot-on)...

With the exception of Simon ‘s character, who I consider more likable and funny in the first one, Simon II managed to surpass it’s predecessor in every aspect. One of the best endings ever too!! These two are the only Simon games I ever played.
Games of great quality.

I love the Simon games!  I think the 2nd game was more funny, but, I loved exploring those trails in Simon 1.  I really can’t say which one I prefer more.  I have re-played them over and over and never get sick of them.

The Simon games are 2 of my favorite games of the 90’s outside of Sierra/LucasArts. It is been so long since I played either. Maybe time for an AGCP?

Wow, so surprised to see the almost undivided praise, makes me wonder why Simon 2 wasn’t even the candidate for AGCP!

Yeah… I could only find the one without Simon’s comment, and I wanted to include that comment. Tongue
