Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Sunday 21 June
It’s funny, you know - Runaway 2 was bigger, longer, better looking than Runaway, but it wasn’t better. Why? I have no idea.
Oh, yeah, bigger isn’t always better? And how, the hell, you make a sequel to a “road game”?! Obviously, by turning geek into hunk, and adding Hawaii.
Disclaimer: I played it halfway through and got bored. I guess the dialog with Joshua killed it for me. Looking to give it a second chance.
Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale
Also only played about half of it. Enjoyed the first one but series lost me on this one. Also should finish it someday…
The Dream of the Turtle is story-wise a bit of an odd thing!
If I remember correctly, then they actually had to cut a quite large part and instead just fast-forward through it, taking you directly from point G to point X with only very little explanation of how you had actually gotten from G to X
Despite this and other flaws then I still overall enjoyed it, and it is certainly the most wacky story in the series which is a plus in my book - There simply isn’t enough wackyness in the world imo.
(Both A Road Adventure and A Twist of Fate are however better games imo)
You have to play the game, to find out why you are playing the game! - eXistenZ
