Egypt 2: The Heliopolis Prophecy (2000) is another pseudo-educational game about Egypt by Cryo Interactive. It’s better than the first game in the series, but not as good as the 3rd which was made by a different developer (Kheops).

I’d like to remind everyone that tomorrow is my last AGSotD and I’m including some statistics for you today about the 369 adventure games I will have covered from the last 37 years of adventure game history.

Here are the number of games broken down by decade:

None: 1 (Unreleased game)
1970s: 2
1980s: 48
1990s: 215
2000s: 72
2010s: 31

Notice any bias?

Here is a graph breaking it down by each year:

As an aside, it is now possible for an extremely observant and knowledgeable person with too much time on their hands to guess exactly what game I will end with tomorrow as all the clues are now available.

No bias there: most of the (quality) AG’s with modern* graphics (and great stories) were made in 90’s (I would say around 1996). You just covered it as it is.

(then comes an avalanche of opinions: )

*Not in the sense that you could see every pubic facial hear (or pimple) clearly, but that the color palette had more than 256 16 colo(u)rs.

P.S. What’s a(n) AGSotD?

Nothing wrong with the graph, the second half of the 90s were the best years for gaming in any genre.

Clearly tomorrows picture will be a DS game Smile
