My personal preference is GK1, I just wouldn't have a problem with playing GK2 instead.
Is it possible to copy the entire GK1 cd on harddrive and play it from there?

Fien, I took the liberty to modify your post to incorporate Little Writer's specification. As soon as everyone has voted, we'll have a winner

Thanks! I knew such things were out there, but it's often hard to find the stuff that really works.

GK1 is already setup on my computer and ready to play. However, I have no objections to playing GK2 as that is such a terrific game. I would still have to say GK1 first though, given the choice.

Well, I just got GK1 playable on my pc, so if we do choose GK2 for the community playthrough I will finish this game before that.

I see I'm labeled with GK1 with a questionmark, so here's to confirm my vote for GK1.
While #2 is my favorite, I think #1 is much more interesting for a playthrough. GK1 is longer, harder and has a bigger variety of problems to solve. I expect more diverse reactions there than with #2, wich is more evenly paced. Also, for first timers (and others, including me) it might take some effort enjoying the game for the dated graphics and interface. Playing together would help there, I think. |

And GK1 is. Expect the thread to be up very soon.

Well that's good, at least it'll force me to keep playing the 1st one.

Ok, GK 1 then!
Wohoo, my first community playthrough! I'm so excited! I have to set it up on my PC, I hope it works on Windows 7!

Only on Dosbox on Windows 7 (64 bit). But on there it works like a charm.

I have it set up as well. Thru DosBox using Collector's awesome installer!!!
How exactly do the community playthroughs work? Forgive my newbish question, just unsure if it's a scheduled thing or chime in as you feel like it, or what. Any and all details would be welcome. If a PM would work better, that'd be fine too. -ozymanhattan |

GK1 is fine with me. This will be a perfect opportunity to fully test the Windows version with that XP installer. When I tested it under my Vista system, it didn't crash at the Lake Pontchartrain scene like it did on my XP computer.
So, fingers crossed...

Yes! Though I have started uni again/ a new game of my own, so I'm not sure I should. But that doesn't mean I don't want to!

Sanitarium was a popular choice back when we discussed possible titles, and have since appeared on GOG, becoming obtainable much much easier. I'd love a playthrough of that; I think I could even try my hand at conducting it, as long as people agreed on pretty relaxed timetable. (I suffer from a chronic lack of time).
Although, after four consecutive rather dark and serious games, perhaps something lighter is in order first? And whatever the game, we should probly start closer to the Summer's end, to give the vacationing people a chance to learn about it and participate.

Yeah, it must be time for another playthrough!
I don't really mind what we do but will offer my services for a Broken Sword playthrough if anyone is interested. I'm also more than happy to go for Sanitarium which I have bought fairly recently but not yet played. Interested to see any other thoughts/offers! |

I'd happily join in a Sanitarium playthrough but I have the early edition that won't play under XP. Anyone know where I could get a patch to fix that? (I originally played it on my old Win98 machine. I've still got that as a backup but I'd rather avoid that if possible. It was always a cranky beast and age hasn't improved it)
