Review of Ringworld: Revenge of the Patriarch by TrevimusPrime

Wasted Potential

Considering the source material that Ringworld pulls from, how could this game get things so wrong?

Ringworld is a series of Novels by Larry Niven, so theres quite a lot of world building and backstory already in place. The first problem is that the devolpers expected you to know have read at least one of the books prior to playing this, as nothing is really explained in game (i.e what the Ringworld actually is).
The story isnt fleshed out, the puzzles are mostly obscure “click everywhere with everything” affairs, and its biggest crime, is that it just feels unfnished. The game was meant to be a trilogy, and Im honestly surprised that a sequel was made for this (but not surprised the 3rd game was cancelled). It took me 3 hours to fully get through Ringworld, it was an average experience, that with a bit more work could have been a lot more enjoyable.

I would not recommend.
