TAC announces Agatha Christie mysteries series

(Updated April 6)

Stories from the oeuvre of the celebrated 'whodunit' writer, the late Agatha Christie, will soon become interactive digital sleuthing experiences, as reported by Ireland Online. Christie's grandson, Mathew Prichard, gave the green light for his grandmother's works. No specifics yet as to which stories or novels will be selected. However, it was announced that five titles will be picked and translated into games within the next six years. The games will be developed and published by The Adventure Company.

Richard Wah Kan of Dreamcatcher/The Adventure Company says: “Today’s partnership unlocks the gameplay inherent in Agatha Christie’s elaborate plots and turns players into interactive sleuths. The addition of these titles to our line-up solidifies our commitment to Adventure gaming and will surely strengthen our position as the leading Adventure game publisher.”

Chorion PLC have been enlisted to create the games: "Chorion PLC (LSE:COR) is an owner, developer and manager of creative content with the rights to key brands such as Noddy, The Famous Five, Miss Marple, Poirot and Maigret. Visit http://www.chorion.com."

Agatha Christie, who died in 1976, was the author of 79 novels, numerous short fiction, and 14 plays. Her two most famous characters are the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and the inquisitive and cynical English spinster, Miss Jane Marple, both of whom were the stars of their own series of murder mystery novels. Her writing talent and popularity earned her the Commander of the Order of the British Empire decoration in 1956, and then Order of Dame Commander of the British Empire in 1971. A brief biography can be found here.
