ScummVM 0.6.0 released

Today, the ScummVM team released the latest version of their adventure game interpreter. ScummVM, which is available on a multitude of platforms, allows users to run various classic adventure titles on modern systems. In addition to supporting LucasArts' SCUMM-based adventure titles, ScummVM is compatible with games such as Simon the Sorcerer, Beneath a Steel Sky, and, with the release of 0.6.0, Flight of the Amazon Queen.

Version 0.6.0 represents a significant step in the development of ScummVM. From the press release:

Version 0.6.0 brings with it a new milestone in ScummVM history, with all LucasArts/LucasFilm SCUMM adventure titles now being supported. We are also proud to announce in conjunction with ScummVM 0.6.0 the release of the classic adventure game Flight of the Amazon Queen (originally available for the Amiga and DOS) as freeware. The ScummVM team would like to thank the authors Steve Stamatiadis and John Passfield for providing the team with the source code to this classic game, and allowing us to release it.

Specific notable improvements include complete support for Full Throttle as well as the older versions of Zak McKracken and Maniac Mansion.

Download ScummVM 0.6.0 from the official ScummVM download page. You can find the version for your operating system of choice in the "0.6.0 Release Binaries" section.
