Dark Recall a point-and-click reminder of early text adventures

There are text adventures, and there are point-and-click adventures, but in a narrow middle ground between them are point-and-click text adventures like TeraBit Software's Dark Recall.

Dark Recall is a futuristic sci-fi adventure set on the only habitable colony planet in the Hayden star system. In the year 2176, mankind took to the stars to solve its critical resource problem, and a small settlement was established at the very edge of the exploratory missions. Over time the colony developed into "a modern association of settlements grouped around a single fusion reactor, known as the 'core'. It seemed like the perfect place to start over" until a natural disaster forced the inhabitants to flee off-world while they still had time.

While the bulk of Dark Recall's story is experienced strictly through text, the game is complemented by music, sound effects, background graphics and character portraits. Rather than typing in responses, players click highlighted phrases in the text for additional information and character actions. Choices you make affect the storyline as you seek to guide colonists Amaya and Cal to safety.

The game is quite far along in production, and the developers expect to launch the final version before the end of the year.  In the meantime, you can check out a playable demo for yourself and vote for the game at Steam Greenlight if you like what you see.
