UK to be Haunted late this year

Deck13's Haunted has been haunted itself by publisher troubles in the past, but at last the game is on track for release by Lace Mamba Global in the UK later this year.

While still a comedy, Haunted is something of a departure from Deck 13's previous bright, cheerful Ankh and Jack Keane games. In 19th century London, players control a young girl named Mary on the trail of her sister, who is now believed dead. After nearly meeting her own demise at the hands of Professor Lindsey Ashford and her henchman, Mary learns that she can communicate with ghosts and that a secret from her own past "could lead to the destruction of the spirit world and the overall cosmic balance overall." To prevent this tragedy, Mary's travels will take her to such locations as "Scotland, Transylvania and a goldfish glass" accompanied by up to six different ghostly companions, and certain puzzles will even require players to switch to a werewolf.

Along with the UK, Haunted will be distrbuted in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Scandinavia and the Benelux countries. While no firm release date has yet been announced, the game is currently scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2011.
