Jolly Rover sailing into retail stores in February

Disc ahoy! For those who have been holding out on the downloadable version of Jolly Rover, there's good news on the horizon, as Lace Mamba Global will be publishing a retail version of Brawsome's piratey-dog adventure early next year.

In this strictly canine comic adventure, the ever-so-polite Gaius James Rover sets out to pursue his life's dream of starting his own circus, but his plans are soon thwarted when he's taken prisoner aboard a pirate ship. Escaping that jam is just the beginning of his adventure across three tropical Caribbean islands, where he'll need to contend with cannibals, voodoo, top-dog rivalries (literally), and even the treacherous waters of romance.

Originally launched for download in June, this release will mark the first retail version of the game for both PC and Mac. According to the developer, the boxed version will include "exclusive extras including a high quality soundtrack and bonus concept and hi-res art as well as using uncompressed art assets for the game." Lace Mamba Global has the worldwide publishing rights to Jolly Rover, though given the Brighton-based publisher's track record, expect the game to appear in the UK long before it reaches North American shores (if ever). The retail version of Jolly Rover is currently scheduled for February 2011 in the UK.
