Dracula 3 takes a bite of Apple with new Mac port

The lead-up to Halloween is a good time for Dracula. The famed Count has been revived not once but twice recently, as Coladia has just released a Mac port of Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon, while Anuman has taken the same game and re-released it for PC as a casualized "Dracula Series".

Originally released in 2008, this supernatural Kheops mystery puts players in the holy shoes of Father Arno Moriani, sent to a war-torn Transylvanian town in 1920 to investigate the sainthood candidacy of a local doctor. What he discovers is anything but sacred, however, and soon Father Arno finds himself undergoing the fabled "Path of the Dragon" trials in order to disprove the existence of vampires. At least, so he thinks.

Coladia is no stranger to Kheops Mac ports, having previously released such games as Return to Mysteries Island and its sequel, Nostradamus, and The Secrets of Da Vinci, among others. The port of Dracula 3 is available for download at Coladia's webstore, along with MacGameStore.com and MacParadise.com at a cost of $29.90 US.

Meanwhile, PC gamers who may have felt overwhelmed by the sometimes daunting challenge of the game originally, now have another chance with a slightly casualized version from Anuman called the "Dracula Series". While keeping the main game intact, the new version is split into three episodes and includes a more user-friendly interface and has reduced the challenge of some of the puzzles for more widespread accessibility. Available in separate parts or as a complete game, we'll take a closer look at this series in our upcoming Casual Collection feature early next month.
