Re-shuffled 3 Cards to Midnight gets trailer, firm release date, and sequel
After a few release targets for 3 Cards to Midnight that have come and gone unfulfilled, the launch of Aaron Conners' and Chris Jones' new game is now set for May 6th, and a new trailer is now available to mark the occasion.
It seemed back in November that the return to the genre of the acclaimed Tex Murphy creators was closing fast, but after our own sneak preview and other early feedback, the developers decided to significantly redesign several aspects of the game. While still retaining some of the casual gameplay elements, the changes promise to increase the game's story focus even more, better integrate the puzzles, and improve the cinematic quality substantially, among other enhancements.
Some of these changes will be immediately apparent in the new trailer, now available for streaming at the game's official website. With a healthy sampling of in-game footage, the teaser highlights the game's premise, in which Jess Silloway finds herself unable to remember the traumatic experiences of the past few days. Only through the help of an unidentified man, his set of Tarot cards, and of course player participation, will Jess be able to delve deep into her psyche and trigger her memories.

And if all that still isn't enough, the pair have confirmed that a sequel is already in the early stages of production, called 3 Cards to Dead Time, which will pick up where 3CM leaves off, further exploring story points only hinted at in the first installment. Still another game has also been "revealed" in the form of Secret Project "Fedora", which doesn't take a down-on-his-luck P.I. to figure out, but no further details are available at this time.
