Dark Fall II interview

The Adrenaline Vault has interviewed Jonathan Boakes, founder of XXV Productions, discussing the second Dark Fall game, subtitled Lights Out. The article also includes a brief synopsis of the history of adventure games. The game is scheduled for release this summer.

 

Pure adventure games are becoming harder to find. Some people believe that the demand for this genre is fading. What’s your take on this?

 

Fading? The genre died and went to game hell. Thankfully, a few developers saw that this particular medium had been abused and left to rot. Point-and-click adventures are a little category all their own, loathed by many but loved by those who enjoy them. There are quite a few of the latter. It’s a sleeper genre in which quirky titles have an opportunity to shine without all the cash and exposure a budget-blasting giant would require.
