QTEs :(

I liked the old interactive movies, for instance TLC, but this one is not for me. I read the other reviews and I’m relieved that I’m not the only one who couldn’t make it past the last series of QTEs. Had to watch the ending at Youtube. The story is okay, I guess. The acting is a bit over the top at times.

This is not a game

The story is great and the acting is superb, but this is not a game. This is an interactive movie where you’re led by hand throughout the whole experience and are told exactly what to do. Even Telltale games have more gameplay than this. On the other hand, the whole ‘being led by hand’ experience does add to the immersion factor in a sense, because the ‘game’ treats you - the player - just like an overly protective mother treats her child, which ties well to the story.

I recommend experiencing this (can’t use ‘playing’ nor ‘watching’ here), but just be aware of what you’re getting into.

Adventures of a post apocalytic shut-in

Well I didn’t actually finish this one. The last mouse mashing event was too quick for mouse skills and after having to repeat the previous 3-4 minutes to get to it again 4 times I realised I could be playing an actual adventure game and not a spliced television movie with several timed-sequences and mouse mashing events towards the end.
Most of the time it is extremely linear, your avatar is a 30 year man brought up in ignorance by his mother after an incident in a fallout bunker. The reasons for which become very obvious towards the end. Your daily routine is all you have and makes game flow very easy for the developers. Most of the time you are asleep at the wheel only to be surprised by a mousing mashing/clicking event in what appeared to be one long extended cutscene. note events in flashbacks are more flexible than the present for the bulk of the game. Other times the video is looping as you look for the only hotspot on the screen.
All in all a good watchable movie length movie with a few scratches on the DVD causing scene repeats, not really a game.

Interesting Game

This game is very good in the concept. It has a good story, excelent acting and a… I don’t know, something that make you go on until the end. I like it., a lot.

Could have been a great adventure game

Very nice short story with a surprising plot. Everything runs very smoothly and looks great. Very nice acting, voice acting and soundtracks. For the diehard adventure gamers, this isn’t the game for you though. There is only 1 puzzle if you can even call it “that”. Gameplay reminds me of Teltale games like ‘The Walking Dead’. You will only have to click, click & slide and rapid clicking to get to the end.
I really hope real adventure games will look like this in the near future.
