There was a similar survey at some Sierra_online fan page, which had resulted a certain age to be on top of the poll; which is really understandable, since most of the Sierra hardcore fans today were at the beginning of their teen-aging life when Sierra had started.

But how about the age of the majority of adventuregamers nowadays, with their different taste, and their different early age of getting hooked into the genre, is what had me wondering.

Interesting survey, Advie. It looks like we’re in same age range! Laughing
Although what I desperately need right now is a quiz! Any volunteers?

HA! I’ll be 68 in a couple of weeks. I believe rtrooney is the same age. LadyKestrel is over 60. There must be others. No Gauss. Tongue

Wow, surprised I’m one of the younger ones, 31 years old soon to be 32. I would have thought that people around my age would also be very much into adventure games…

Wow really ? I never knew that people over 50 play videogames. I`m practically just a baby at 25

Hmmm .. Seems like I’m about a decade above the norm here Grin

I would have expected a larger spread of age, but for some reason almost everybody seems to be in the early 30ies Meh

LOL! Yeah, you weren’t even born when I started playing King’s Quest and Infocom’s text adventures. I’ve told this true story before, but a 25-year old baby might find it amusing. In 1986, a friend showed me all the wonderful stuff he could do on his brand-new Atari ST 1040, including a game with a little guy walking across screens.* At one point he fell into the ocean and was in danger of drowning. Oops! What now? My friend told me to type the word “swim”. Lo and behold!... King Graham started swimming. That was magic for me. Pure magic. I just had to have an Atari ST of my own. And that’s how it started.

Granny will shut up now. Smile

*The external diskdrive would make loud screeching and whizzing sounds for 5-10 seconds before a new screen appeared.

Wow, awesome! Hope I’ll still be as enthusiastic about adventures when I’m 68, too. Cheers everyone!
