Telltale Games: Batman.
Looks nice. I still wonder how they will deal with the action parts (QTE’s probably)
An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

I really like how this looks. This comic book style they’ve got keeps getting better and better by the game.

I suspect it will be very much like the Walking Dead and The Game of Thrones on that aspect.
An upgrade
Hoorrraaayyyyyy
Funny how Troy playing Bats after playing Joker and Twoface in Arkham.

They should have gotten Kevin Conroy. Too expensive? I guess no Mark Hamill if Joker shows up

Hamill got pissed and burned out, he quit
Troy can now play all male characters

Conroy is probably busy with voicing batman in the new justice league series
Interview on IGN E3 stream.
Just a few points so far:
- Engine was described as ‘new’ by IGN. Telltale corrected and said it is ‘upgraded’
- You will spend time as both Bruce and Batman
- Batman is ‘writing cheques that Bruce can’t cash’
- Look and feel inspired by Walking Dead and the comic books
- The story is ‘unique’ and is not based on any individual comic, film, or TV show
- You will be playing it ‘before the kids go back to school’. Telltale said August.
- Is it going to be detective noir? No, not really. Some elements may come into play. More action and combat than Wolf Among Us.
QTE intensive it means…

Yeah, I have a similar feeling unfortunately.

Those screens look very sharp.
As an aside, that cel shaded look would be pretty rad for a game with an Art Nouveau art style. Maybe we can get another The Last Express? Just thinking out loud…
I’m not a huge fan of Telltale’s style, honestly. It’s getting a bit annoying to see them have a full monopoly on licensed adventure titles. I wish there was more competition, more variety. Every Telltale game plays just like the last, just with a different universe laid over the framework. I would like to see a Batman game in a more traditional style, something like Fate of Atlantis, maybe. But that’s just me.
Walking the fine line between being an original hardware nerd, and being broke from buying original hardware.

Qte heavy confirmed.
But who am i kiddin
The way I see it regarding Telltale and licenses is that I don’t really care because it is not as if other studios would pick these licenses up and develop a game but now can’t because Telltale is doing so. Telltale is not occupying ‘creative space’ so to speak.

They have proved their mettle in writing, so the ip shopping is easy.
The owners of well known IP’s do tend to like work with companies that have proven their mettle in the field they’re doing the product for. That’s why it usually is the bigger companies who manage to snatch the IP’s.
But then again, character like Batman isn’t solely locked on one developer. DC is willing to let other kinds of takes on the charcater, like in this case the Arkham series. And in the world of comics, there’s several different lines for Batman, like the official one and then there’s the Batman -66, which spins the Adam West style stories.
