And now for something completely different, and hopefully I expect a bit more difficult Naughty

In this game you know (almost) right from the start that everything is not quite right. You can’t put your finger on what or why things are wrong, but the whole atmosphere and setting just reeks of “something is wrong”.

Sounds to me like you are referring to a notorious bug.
At least that’s what came to mind when you said ‘you can’t put your finger on..’ maybe implying a hot location that doesn’t work or a crash or bug that unables you to move the cursor.

Bioscopia?

I had never even heard of this game before now, so no.

Very long guess… Darkness Within?

Also a no, but perhaps not far from the theme of the game I’m referring to. (And I say perhaps, because I have never actually played Darkness Within, only read about it)

Sounds to me like you are referring to a notorious bug.

He he, no I am not that sneaky, though that would have been an excellent idea.
The “can’t put your finger on” is meant figuratively and not literally.

Even though I like to reward guesses with some new clues, then I think it is a bit too soon for that, so I will not give you more to go on right now.

Most of the suspenseful games I can think of, like Amber: Journeys Beyond, you know there is something wrong and are going to investigate it.

Not Amber: Journeys Beyond and also not the 7th Guest Frown

I know the first clue was very vague and could fit many games, but you never know one of you might have guessed at the right game. But now it is time to get a bit more concrete and drastically reduce the number of games it could be:

The game is all about remembering what the protagonist can’t remember and reminiscing the past.

Amnesia: the Dark Descent?

EDIT: Forget Amnesia! That would have been too obvious!!

Must be Tesla Effect!! Tex feels “Something is wrong” as soon as we take control in his office (holes in the walls, new furniture and everything…)

Both Tesla Effect and Yesterday are excellent guesses that does seem to fit the clues, but alas neither is the game I’m thinking of Frown

Well, after that second clue, I immediately thought Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so if Sefir isn’t going to guess that, I will. Tongue

Well unfortunately for you Sefir was correct - Amnesia would be too obvious.

Another wild stab here: Cognition?

Episode 1 starts out pretty ominous.
