Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Thursday 28 May 2015
LET’S PLAY TOGETHER - Week Special
If I had to choose the most depressing, sadistic, horrifying adventure game, I’d go for The Blackstone Chronicles today and for I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream tomorrow. Or vice versa. 
Of course that’s no reflection on the community playthroughs, which were both excellent.

I would agree with your description of those games Karlok but think they are both excellent & I very much enjoyed the CPT for I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream - unfortunately I wasn’t around for The Blackstone Chronicles but for me that game was the ‘worst’ as it made me cry in places where I knew that some of the cruel practises reflected fact whereas IHNMAIMS although very thoughtful (& observant) about the nastier side of human nature it was in my mind the more fictional tale although TBC incorporated some extreme + supernatural elements.
Yeah, that CPT was the first time I played Blackstone. It is probably one of the most emotionally affecting games I have ever played and it deals with some pretty horrible themes in a way that makes it feel very real - despite the supernatural and “forced” bits. Somehow it just works and works well.
