I’ll still leave the commentaries on, so I know where to save.

Are there a lot of commentary points, or not? The MI2 SE only had a few…

Every scene has its own commentary. The game grays-out the commentary icon if you listened to it already.

Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale

This happens if you try the in-game options menu. Along with the game, I also downloaded a program called “Visionaire Configuration Tool” (search for it in the TWW installation folder). There the windowed maximum resolution is 1366x768.

I tried that Tim (except my maximum resolution in Visionaire is 2560x1600 which is my maximum screen resolution. I suspect 1366x768 is your maximum) but it made no difference. No matter what I do the maximum TWW will allow is 1024x768. It’s not a problem but, like Wicked, I would have liked it to be full screen.
Oh, and my copy is from GOG and not Steam.

I would advise against going widescreen because it would stretch the image, but if you really want it your best bet is to play around with your monitor’s settings. Use the buttons on the side or bottom of your monitor to change the aspect ratio.

Most GOG games run 4:3 games in 16:9 meaning you get an ugly stretched image. I’m glad they did not do this with TWW:SE so you can see the graphics as they were meant to be.

You can, just tap Esc and click the flag in top left corner. Almost instant.

Nice, thanks Wilco!  Smile

Perhaps Sadwick might annoy you, but there’re some great English voices for some of the characters - for example, the Rock Brothers sound like coming straight from Disney movie.

I agree, the English rock brothers were brilliantly voiced. I also like the English grandpa better than the German one.

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

I got a copy of this game at half-price books for 4 dollars.

Runs like a charm on my PC Netbook.

So - I’m in for a playthrough of “The Whispered Word”

Game sounds interesting and this will be the first time I’ve ever played the game - so I should be in for a real treat.

I enjoy playing adventure games on my Alienware M17 r4 and my Nintendo Switch OLED.

I already own the game, so I will play the standard edition. No German voices for me and no alternate ending and I have to tolerate Sadwick’s voice Frown

Cheers Oscar. I was fully aware of all that (haven’t worked in IT for 40 odd years and not learned something Smile ) but I was just looking for an in-game methodology as I can’t be bothered to keep changing resolutions. The game actually looks good on my new 30” monitor black lines or not so I’m not really complaining.

And for those complaining about Sadwick’s voice in the English version (which I’ll be playing) I got used to it when I first played and, by about half way through, actually enjoyed it. Please feel free to think I’m weird Laughing

You’re weird Tongue Just kidding. I don’t know, I just never could tolerate his voice. It’s a shame because the game otherwise is pretty amazing, but then again different strokes for different folks.

I never had any issues with the voice acting when I played the demo. But I will still be trying out the German this time, just because I don’t shy from foreign languages and German is one of the languages I’d like to learn.

Shall we start Sefir? Everyone who voted has checked in (and more).

A few things I noticed already:
-The music. Great, isn’t it? Has to be one of the most distinctive AG main themes.
-The graphics are better than I remember them. I love the style. I don’t know if that’s my memory’s fault or the SE being better.
-I like the mouth/eye/hand option even though it’s slightly clunky to hold down the mouse and then click again.
-The commentaries: I don’t think I’ll enjoy these too much. I’m not very interested in how games are made in general, the development process, or how much fun they had in the studio. From what I’ve heard, that’s what most of them have been about.

Shall we start Sefir?

I agree, there is no point in waiting any more.

Let’s begin our big journey in Silentia!!  Laughing

You have until 16th of January to finish the first act of the game!! (I give 12 days only for the first act, so that it won’t mess any participant’s scheadules. It will be 10 days for the rest of the chapters. Of course that may change depending of the general pace.)

We will all be here for commenting the game, the characters, the story, providing tips if needed, etc. Smile

EDIT:Something I forgot to tell in the first post. Holding spacebar reveals hotspots!!! It is an important feature and I suggest using it.

Everyone who voted has checked in (and more).

This is something that struck me very nicely. Smile
Despite the number of votes TWW had, this CP has the biggest number of starting participants in the AGCP history (exactly the same with CCS -developers included- and slightly more than IHNMAIMS). It was something really unexpected and I hope we all stay until the end.

It is not only the theme music. You will see (or rather listen) excellent in-game music. The game’s soundtrack is great. As it is also in many other games of Daedelic (Night of the Rabbit comes to mind). Daedelic has been praised many times for it’s excellent 2d artists and it is slightly unfair that their music composers are not mentioned that much.

Zifnab - 04 January 2015 01:28 AM

-The graphics are better than I remember them. I love the style. I don’t know if that’s my memory’s fault or the SE being better.

Some scenes were re-done, but even in the previous version they are the finest 2d graphics today. IMO no other Daedelic game (even more recent ones) or other 2d specialists (Bill Tiller comes to mind, though his personal style is very different) have achieved such perfection. Of course I’m talking about the in-game graphics and not about the, somewhat simplistic, cutscenes. TWW 2 has a difficult task and according to the videos they are on the right track.

You also have the option to doubleclick and then choose without holding the mouse button.

Doesn’t work for me. Which edition do you have?

Hey, that’s strange! I have the original German retail version from 2009. Why would they not provide this option in other versions…?

Just a small reminder: DO NOT READ THE COMMENTS FROM THE DESIGNERS unless you have already finished THE GAME. They are FULL OF SPOILERS not only about all the riddles in the screen you are, but also about the game in general.

Miraculously, the game is stretching to my desktop resolution - proof:

This is not my native resolution (it’s 1920x1080), but I’m having some troubles with the graphics card drivers and monitor, so that might be the reason. Grin
