Does anybody know if there’s a forum or something for this?

http://jams.gamejolt.io/pointandclickjam

Been a while since I looked into adventure game development and adventuredevelopers.com appears to be down. Was hoping to have a jaw with some adventure-minded folks afore the jam.

All the best,

I figure I’ll do something in Unity (C#) and Blender (modelling and animation).

Two weeks is a fairly short time for adventure development, I’d imagine. I’m looking at something like 6 Day Assassin (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/11/) or RebirthReaper (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1704/) as a model for the amount of content to aim for. Always have trouble scoping for jams - more learnding required, I guess. =)

Any ideas floating around? I’ve got nothing at the moment, but I’m just trying to avoid the kleptomaniac student/tourist/princess/psychic detective clichés… Would be nice to do something Breaking Bad-like (in tone and atmosphere, if not topic). Something from current affairs, etc.

Just noodling around…

Potentially worth pointing out that the jam now has it’s own forum at http://pointandclickjam.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4

Hey Rev! Are you going to try and finish your entry at some point? A real shame you didn’t make the deadline! Frown

I made this extremely short game for the jam, The Exciting Space Adventures of Greg and Linda: http://gamejolt.com/games/adventure/the-exciting-space-adventures-of-greg-and-linda/38367/

It even ended up in SECOND PLACE! YAY!

Hola!

Wowww… thought this thread was dead and buried! =P Yeah, so we fully intend taking The Lion of Zenda forward. We got kinda bushwhacked by our proper artists having Actual Paying Work (which is totally understandable!), which left me doing character models and… then my cpu pump died… and and and the dog ate our homework, basically.

That said, when my comp’s back up, we’re going to take another stab at it. We’d built some really cool technology and assets for the project and I’m just frustrated we didn’t manage to cross that last 20% by deadline.

Would you believe I’d just downloaded Greg and Linda when I saw your message? Many, many congratz on your placement - I LOVE the look of your game. You really made that restricted palette sing! Or, click, whoosh and make sci-fi sounds. (Especially love the vignette scenery!)

I’m excited to play G&L and will let you know what I think - though probably won’t play it tonight… Much typing ahead!

I would have loved to have participated in this, but too much to do, too little time. I’ll be looking forward to seeing what comes of the various games that might get continued!

We did a short Quest for Infamy prequel for this, but were only able to upload an alpha version (all rooms complete, not all interactions/events finished.)  We’ll go back to it and finish it properly in the coming months, but it was certainly an interesting experiment.  Two weeks is a fairly absurd deadline to make an adventure game with painterly Sierra-style pixel art.

Anyway, it’s Quest For Infamy: Roehm to Ruin, if you’re interested in checking it out on GameJolt.
