Fallout franchise is out of steam.

I loved Fallout 3, but gave up on New Vegas after 8 hours or so. It was exactly the same as 3 but with more bugs and crashes. Software bugs and crashes, that is. Smile

How does Fallout 4 compare?

I actually have the same issue with all Bethesda games. They’re a lot of fun for 8-20 hours, and then they run out of steam, and I often just give up. Fallout 3 is probably the only one I actually finished.

BioWare does better in keeping the momentum going, imo, at the cost of a bit more linearity.

The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

I think Fvegas>F3>F4.
ChrisAvellone saved Vegas.
F3 was first foray into 3d Fallout.
F4 is same after years of craving but worst main plot of all.
Its most fun though in gameplay, better fps controls and graphics.
But once you hit mid point and explored all areas, story loses steam.
Institution plot had no twists, Valentine saved the entire game with his dialogues.

True. World building and systems was much better and interesting in New Vegas plus it had excellent DLC campaigns - specially Old World Blues.
Fallout 3 had some very good small stories.
Fallout 4 I have not finished but was disappointed of what I played.
Bethesda should’ve contracted Obsidian again for more Fallout…

I have a feeling they will get obsidian again for another project.

Yeah, I have the same problem with Bethesda. I actually quite liked the first part of Fallout NV, but shortly after arriving in New Vegas I lost all interest in the game, and a similar thing happened with Skyrim.

Evilwithin Consequence and Executioner DLCs

Bethesda both DLCs effort on this game and Dishonored have been better than main games.
Not directed by Mikami and experiments with different gameplay mechanics e.g using torchlight like Alanwake, hide and seek like Clocktower, first person battles with BoxMan etc were great all wrapped up in Cronenberg + Matrix like plot.
Lots of wtf revelations like Sebastians wife being alive and main person in plot to Boxman as another test subject.

With Pete Hines hinting sequel, i have faith in Tango to pull off another great game on ue4. Its hitting production soon, so probably announcement trailer at TGS or VGA.
Tango artists helped design Doom Enemies, so that department is well covered too.
I just want them to get rid off shooting enemies.

Bound

Created by Devs who made one of my fav LingerinShadows.
This is another Techdemo wrapped up in musical, dancing paint.
Less than 2hrs with automated platforming and dancing nothing complex like their former effort.
Still pretty and beautiful.

DeusEx:Mankind Divided

This game is epic disappointment.
A 5yr old engine, looks worse thanks to more stiff crappy animations, bad lipsynching, dead facial expressions, low polycount etc.
Then there is bad cast of characters, Rucker , miller, and people i forgot because i dont want to remember that stereotype Afro pilot, Malik from HR was better.
Story is worse than some random cyberpunk Anime.
Same themes, same drama.
Yellow filter gone, which actually helped HR.
Prague and other hubs are bad level design.
Hack and vents alternate routes are not cool 1000th time.
Boss fights are gone, wow, one last fight was epic joke.
If you have seen footages till E3, you have seen 60% of game, rest is cliffhanger ending that only does damage to this most revered franchise.
Music is like before, but not avdingle track stood out, and i guess its less dynamic.
They cut all corners, except Breach, which i found fun for a while.
Gameplay is fun with more pwers/augs but dont expect some innovations, its expansion of DRHR.
12hrs main campaign, tanked through some areas as stealth is vent, bad stealth kill animations with no satisfaction.

2.5/5

Safe your money for goty edition on sale next year.
New dlcs will complete story , and existing package is lackluster.

Dark Souls - Xbox 360
Dark Souls : Artorias of the Abyss DLC - Xbox 360

I knew beforehand that Dark Souls was a hard game, but upon finishing the game, it’s not as hard as people make it out to be. The only boss I had a hard time with, was Manus, which took me 4 attempts. Most bosses only took about 1-2 tries. That being said, I still died quiet a few times.

Game Time: Around 30hrs
Final Stats:
Level - 90
Vitality - 27
Attunement - 20
Endurance - 28
Strength - 16
Dexterity - 12
Resistance - 8
Intelligence - 50
Faith - 8

Pro
- Level design and game world design was fantastic
- Game play/combat
- Difficulty
- Rewards exploration

Con
- Graphics
- Game is very confusing initially
- Ending

Ornstein&Smough; were tough, i took 2 weeks break, then came back, lost 20 times, took a week break then with ninja ring beat them in 8 tries.
2nd phase was hard, because i lack endurance for 20 min fight will full concentration.

Dragon Slayer Ornstein & Executioner Smough I did on my first attempt. Smough can be easily killed by having a broken pillar in between you and him. Truthfully though, I have watched play throughs of people fighting them. Watching people play through dark souls for the first time is quite entertaining.

I only upgraded gravelord sword , and that was disaster.

Recore

Pros

Oldschool mix of Metroid, Megaman,Jetforcegemini, jakndexter etc.
Some great platforming, jumps, dash, dash jump etc.
Joule is adorable.
Traversal with seth corebot is fun.
Lots of exploring
Fun gameplay

Cons

Unity
Bad loading times
Unity
Bad textures
Unity
Framedrops and glitchy animations
Unity
Felt like great potential with tight budget
Conman
Lack of enemy variety
Samey dungeons
Loot not game changing, just cosmetic and level enhancing rpg gimmicks.
Bad story
Lack of proper music in overworld or dungeons, feels alot quiet and low tone.
Had Darksiders potential of puzzles and music, but felt short.

GREAT base game but technically flawed.
UE4 and more budget could have helped it.
Its more fun gameplay design than Gears4 or DR4, but mSoft sent it to die like Phantomdust.
Checking pc vids hurt because 60fps is gamechaning exp in these games.
So go for pc at all cost.
