The little treasure hunt in Mycroft’s flat was one of my favourite parts of the game. That was before it got too complicated and non-linear for my taste. To be honest, the first Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes was great and unequalled to this day, but I probably had more fun with Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper than with The Rose Tattoo.

(Still I wish GOG would offer those two games for those who haven’t had a chance to play them.)

What I really liked and remember about this game was the level of sophistication in the character dialogues. I mean, there were hard words in there! Words you’d have to look up in a dictionary if you’re not a native English speaker. I think many times, developers “dumb down” the language in their games, but Sherlock Holmes here actually had the refined kind of vocabulary you’d expect him to have.
