Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Monday 20 May 2013

Now the question is, is anybody interested in continuing with the AGSD? I doubt anybody would ever be as determined as Kurunfinwe and run this singlehandedly, but perhaps a few of us could band together? If a few more people were up for it I’d be interested in committing to contribute once a week Smile

I’d volunteer to do it once a week (although my adventure game knowledge is weak…)

I thought about suggesting something like that. I could voulenteer to be responsible for one day of the week.

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

I really enjoyed the thematic scenes of the day. like the last scenes with the endings. or the ones with the easter eggs, etc. So, another way of keeping this alive is someone taking over the responsibility for a week and posting scenes in a certain field or in a certain theme. That way everyone can contribute and will do it whenever they have the time. and nobody will worry about taking the burden of posting scenes for a whole year, even “only” once a week.(if not possessing the patience and desire of kurufinwe. thanks for doing that Smile ).

And there I was, thinking there’ll never come a day to agree with you.

It’s sad to see this end as I enjoyed the SotD as well. Kurufinwe did a great job at it, but I certainly understand not wanting to endure such a commitment. I certainly couldn’t handle doing it every day. I could probably handle once a week though.

In fact, maybe I’ll do a “Rarity of the Week” or some similarly titled thing since I play all those obscure and bizarre games that others haven’t heard of, or only know of because they appear on adventure-archiv.com and such.

Of course, games that hardly anyone has played are highly unlikely to create any sort of discussion, so maybe I would be wasting my time. I’ll think about it.

Anyway, thanks for the year of great posts, Kurufinwe.

I think it’s a great idea Bastich & hope you think about it some more! Someone somewhere other than yourself must have played them too! I would be interested to see what you come up with especially if you give a description of the game, whether you thought it was good or bad & why the game ended up as a rarity! If a discussion can’t be provoked they would still be interesting & ‘educational’ threads!

Since a few people have expressed interest already it could be an idea to have a different theme every day like badlemon suggested:
Kasper’s Kartoon Klassics Mondays
Bastich’s Obscure Tuesdays
Oscar’s Oldies Wednesdays

Or whatever our specialty is Grin
