Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Wednesday 20 March 2013
I don’t know anything about The Orion Conspiracy, except that it exists. At least today I’ve learnt it has yellow lizard monsters.
(Is that a puzzle spoiler? I found the screenshot in the AGs database.)
It’s been quite a while since I played it, but I remember it as a decent oldschool adventure (though a bit inconsistent) in the same style as the Guilty/Innocent Untill Caught games that were developed by the same company (Divide by Zero). I remember it had quite a bit of profanities in it, which was a bit unusual at the time.
Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

Probably the worst game I’ve ever played. Concept was fine, particularly for the time, and it was the first game I can recall having a homosexual subtext. But the swearing was incessant and completely out of context most of the time. The design of the space station was such that you were forever walking down the same type of corridor no matter what level of the station you were investigating. The overall story became simplistic and cliched. The only reason I bought it was because it came out of the same stable that did Guilty which, for me at any rate, was vastly superior.
Life is what it is.
The Orion Conspiracy… today I’ve learnt it has yellow lizard monsters.
If you had visited LuckyEddie’s SuperEdy’s Quiz Heaven you would’ve learnt that (and much more) earlier.
Everybody wants to be Cary Grant.
Even Me.

I suppose you’re right, it’s probably shite Like I said, it’s a very long time since I played it, I only have vague memories of it, and I never finished it. I do remember liking Innocent Until Caught 1&2 a whole lot more.
