It’s €13.49 were I live Frown

I never the less bought it, and have given it a quick spin. It looks like the puzzles are generally harder than in the original game, but otherwise it seems to be more of the same.

I’ll buy it asap. No matter the cost. The original Talos Principle was an excellent game and my expectations for this are sky high.

I bought it, played it for an hour or so, and realised that I was still fed up with the Talos Principle (even though it’s been 6 months) and not ready to get back to its extremely repetitive puzzles.

That one will have to wait.

Played the first world, no new puzzle mechanics so far but some of them were devious .
Not sure about the new computer stuff, maybe it’s too much, been skipping through some of it (but some of the threads are fun).

Started out today, got four dudes but boy does this game have a lot of reading, again.

Played the first two levels, and I must admit that I got stuck quite a few times. Both in “Through a Window” and “Bunny Hop” I simply couldn’t see the solution, and had to leave them and return later until finally struck by an epiphany.

And that last Star in level 2, that cost me both blood, sweat and tears, well not literally blood, but it did make me sweat. I think I had to reset the whole puzzle at least 4 times and it probably took me 2-3 hours, before I finally got everything right.

Yes there is a lot of reading, perhaps even too much, but on the other hand I thought most of it, like playing a little text adventure, was kind of cool.

The text could have been paced better (sometimes freeing someone gets you next to nothing, sometimes it gets you multiple micro text-adventures), but other than that I rather like it. Using a bit of forum drama as a case study for socio-political insights is an interesting setup, and the resident AIs are getting more fleshed out with more obviously non-human yet pretty relatable personalities.
It’s all a bit less philosphical and more literary (is that the word I’m looking for? I guess?), but with this being dlc-sized and with the ground covered in the main game, it’s not a bad choice at all.

Ugh, I couldn’t get even a single star yet. I see the pieces laying around but haven’t connected the dots yet.
Very happy though because “Haircut” utilizes a mechanic I wanted to use during all of the original game and never got it to work.

So i got the dlc, and im wondering how many people had the reaction that i did:
started one puzzle room, said “oh more laser tripods and bland scenery” and stopped playing and im not sure when ill continue.
I really liked the talos principle.. i played all the way through it and had a lot of fun… but i just realized im feeling very “done” with it, and the dlc doesnt appear to be offering anything refreshing enough to make me want to play it.

I don’t know what you expected, I never bought a DLC before but “more of the same” was exactly what I had in mind. I’m a bit disappointed because I was hoping for more new music (there’s some but it’s fairly bland) but that’s about it.

The puzzle mechanics are a subset of the old ones (so far I saw lasers, fans, cubes, mines, jammers, those laser-blocking dudes and the time replay mechanic, so everything minus that thing that lets the copy of you carry you), the assets are reused (more ruins, egypt, nature etc) and you still progress in the story by interfacing with gradually unlocking terminals.

Puzzles are harder than in the first one - the easiest one would’ve been a red sigil in the original, the hardest ones I haven’t solved yet. They’re also not graded by the developers (though my guess is those sigil puzzles are going to be insane, I just haven’t gotten to them yet).

I’m guess The Talos Principle 2 will be the completely new game you may have been expecting. This is just a puzzle pack. The fact they even bothered with new plot surprised me.

well see thats it, its so bland. The base game thoroughly explored this and did not need another extension of the same blandness for $15. I did not expect a new game, but i expected something to renew my desire to play it, and its missed the mark for me.

Completed it in the “normal” ending. Two hardest puzzles for me were Bunny Hop (which I think sucked, after solving it) and “Colliding Beams” (which I think was brilliant, at least the first part).
The ending itself was a bit disappointing, but now it’s time to go for stars I guess. Only got 1 during the course of normal playing.

BTW, I couldn’t find it online so I deciphered the binary stuff. Spoilered below:
