I’m not liking this announcement of the Expansion Pass so soon. I know that’s how business works now but CDProjekt didn’t use to work like that. I guess little by little they have been going that way… At least gog is still DRM-Free…

That is the only thing going for GOG to be honest, well that and the fact that they have an old catalog, although they have been moving away slowly from getting old games.
If they become like Steam, then why would anyone care about GOG anymore, when Steam is way more established and has a much bigger collection of games?

They are not their former self, M$ marketing deal, DLCs till 2016 for 25$, considering how they Marketed 16 DLCs as a favor for fans and to look positive amidst other AAA Devs,
deep inside Evolve model was in the works lol.

Still its Polish company and i like Polish talent, which counts.

Hold on, I am confused. Did they backtrack on their previous announcement?

No, that DLC is still free. But those 16 packaes are probably mostly cosmetic stuff (and to their credit EA or Actisivion usually charges that superfluous stuff).

The Expansion Pass that they are selling now is for 2 bigger expansions coming later.

No, my comment was directed towards their expediency, tell people of 16 DLCs as free,
hold paid DLC information back, people get happy, talk positively about W3, fre marketing and then pull paid DLC announcement just before release.

I wonder if free 16 DLCs are actually worth anything.

Good news is that game has gone Gold.

The pre-load of Witcher 3 has started on Gog Galaxy and page but the download speed is atrocious!
Guess the 1 million pre-orders they are bragging about are killing their servers Smile
Still a lot of time until the release, so not really a problem but I’m these pre-loads now exist…

How big is the file size, thinking of getting it from PSN.

26Gb download. Not too big considering some stuff lately. Don’t know about the console download.

Got the game, will share impressions tomorrow,

Meanwhile the downgrade was real

I bet coz of the early graphics got more than a million preorders and tens of thousands hardware sell, someone paid someone will.

4 hrs in, almost half an hour spent on exploring huge area with awesome music Wink
From the outset , it doesn’t take much time to set the grand stage for epic journey.
Returning characters and new faces, with great FMV and in game tie in.

Luckily the essence of Witcher1 is back, both in feel and in music.
NPCs are great, and voice acting is high quality, great writing.
Basically Graphics, Music, Story and VAs = A
and combat = C for clunky, though horse controls are super smooth.
HUD is really all over the place, and the text is way too small on PS4.
PS4 framerate and IQ is solid.(Wilco check pics i sent on psn Wink ).

Btw, i scored the edition with map, stickers,OST, Compendium book, Comicbook etc.
Map is awesome.

9 hours in, damn the writing and story is excellent.
Production quality, facial animations, expressions in cutscenes are really well done.
Loving the range of NPCs and their VAs.
Out of 9 hrs only 25% have been combat, mostly investigating, adventuring and solving quests with Witcher senses like BatmanArkham Investigation scenes.
Reached a beautiful and large town called Novigrad, you can easily make a 12 hrs game just based on that city.
CDP really outdid themselves with lore and execution.
